Impressions: Gamr of Thrones - Season 6 Finale - The Winds of Winter

Spoiler Alert: There's all kinds spoilers below, don't you dare keep reading.

Final Warning.

---

OH MY GOD!  The Battle of the Bastards was stunning but this episode took things somewhere... different.

Tommen is dead.  Pycelle was gutted.  The Tyrells and the Faith have *literally* gone up in flames along with the Great Sept of Baelor when Cersei and Qyburn had the previously mentioned massive cache of wildfire blew the WHOLE THING SKY HIGH!  Shame Septa gets handed over to The Zombie Mountain to terrifying effect.  Arya is back and we get Frey Pie!  0.0 We learn Jon's parentage!  He's elected King in the Freakin North!  Dany is leaving Dario behind and shipping out!  CERSEI SITS ON THE DAMN IRON THRONE AND IS CROWNED AS RULER IN HER OWN DAMN RIGHT!

This episode was a non-stop epic end to a season that has been incredible.  I'll discuss more in depth but good lord... Game of Thrones, you have conquered television.

  1. Wow... Just Ahhh! This episode went in different directions then I thought, and was way more satisfying than I thought.

    2. Dude, I was utterly unprepared for the insane-o-storm we got tonight. Seeing Cersei sit on the throne was the most jawdropping thing... apart from the Septa Unella monologue, it was almost like she didn't even speak this episode. She just let all her work in the background fall into place while she burned the situation into submission. "Fine, you s.o.b's want to keep slapping me around and you think I'm finished? How about I just sweep you all of the board." Next season, seeing Dany and what's coming is going to be 100% nuts. Also, like I saw on Kotaku just now, someone mentioned something I thought was utterly true. Tyrion + Varys + Olenna Tyrell = Unstoppable. O.o

  3. I really misread Sansa, I thought she was playing power games to win the north for herself. I had no idea she would screw littlefinger and back Jon. Well played GOT...

    1. Yeah, really didn't know which way that was going, though it did seem that they were leaning towards "we need to be a family." On top of that, she did say that only a fool would trust Littlefinger, so it makes sense. That being said, what do you think LF is going to *do* about it?

    2. Cerci is going to need support to survive and right now she has literally no one except Qyburn and Frankenmountain. Even Jamie doesn't seem too happy about what is going down. So LF could find an opportunity to make an alliance with her, but right now she would seem like a poor bet. LF has the veil but he doesn't have much else to work with. He has harrenhall but the only value there is in having a lordship. His money was on the Starks and they are well...being Starks. So either LF will double down trying to control Sansa, or will try something with Cerci. My thinking is that he will try to take Jon out of the picture and will be there when Sansa needs someone the most. Frankly, I don't see LF getting really anywhere once Dany arrives. Varys knows LF and will let Dany know, even Tyrion knows him. They are teaming up with Olenna and she knows him (I think). He's out of options, I think he will try something but his demise seems inevitable unless he can somehow set the north against Dany.

    3. I think if Sansa is smart and ruthless enough she will steal control of sweetrobin and screw over LF. She needs to take him on and get rid of him now.
